Soon it will be Christmas Day! Do you
remember the same lyrics of an old, popular song?
Every December, people buy gifts for
their loved ones and friends. Others give gifts to other people whom
they do not know – poor and unfortunate beggars, local firemen and
postal carriers, and of course, to their favorite charitable
institutions.
But a lot of people and givers forget
to give gifts to themselves. One very important and valuable gift
that you can give to yourself is to have an annual medical checkup or
medical screening.
Why? Because your life is valuable. You
should check with a medical practitioner to find out what is going on
inside your body. If there is nothing wrong with your health, good
for you and you have peace of mind. But if there is something wrong with
your health, you can fix the problem sooner before you become sorry.
If you regularly check your car and
house for possible damages and defects, the more you should check
also your physical health.
In my case, I give individual gifts to
my myself and my family by going jointly to Saint Rose Dominican
Hospital for free and discounted health screenings every year.
On November 5, 2012, I received the
November-December-January 2013 issue of Women's Care newsletter. Page
27 (see below) of the newsletter showed that Saint Rose Dominican Hospital is
offering the following health screening services, which are available

About 4 years ago, I have read from a
local newspaper that a well-known American singer had a prostate
cancer. He is still alive and healthy today. It was good that he gave
himself a gift by paying for his annual medical examination. The
blood test showed that there was a problem on his prostate screening
result. Further tests confirmed that he had prostate cancer. LUCKILY,
the cancer was benign and did not require chemotherapy. Because of
his annual medical screenings, the singer was able to SAVE his
valuable life.
So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and
girls. If you want to live longer and healthy, please do yourself a
BIG FAVOR. Give yourself a gift by seeing your doctor for annual
complete medical checkup. A one- or 2-hour medical and blood
screenings will catch anything that will affect your health and life.
