Don’t Strain Your Eyes! Do These!

If you’re looking at your computer screen and reading a blog or any website with small characters (normally 10 pixels or points), you are straining your eyes and putting your face closer to the monitor just to read the characters.  That is a bad habit!  Even if you have a 20/20 eye sight, your good vision will deteriorate faster if you keep reading small characters.




Please remember that once your eyes deteriorate, there is no way that you can “rebuild” your eyesight.  The next thing that will happen is you will be wearing eyeglasses.

To protect your valuable eye sight, you must do the following preventive measures:

• Blink your eyes every 10 minutes to lubricate your eye membranes;
  
• Close your eyes for at least one minute every 30 minutes;
  
• Put a bottle of water on top of your computer table.  Drink at least one-half glass of water every 2 hours; and
  
• Enlarge or “zoom” the characters on your computer monitor.
  

To enlarge or “zoom” the characters on your computer monitor, do the following steps, depending on the type of browser you are using, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari:

• Left-click on View
  
• Left-click on Zoom
  
• Right-click on 125% or 150%
  

Below are three sets of characters showing the size of characters displayed on your computer monitor.  The first set of characters has 10-point size characters, the second set has 12-point size, while the third set has 14 point size characters.  You will see that number three set of characters is pleasing to your eyes.

In Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, I used to borrow DVD movies from Blockbuster and Hollywood movie stores. The rent of one DVD movie for 3 nights was $3.50 per movie. I went to Blockbuster or Hollywood movie store when the DVD movie was not available at our local public libraries. I can borrow 10 DVD movies at time from the public library for 7 days.

In 2011, Blockbuster and Hollywood closed all their DVD movie stores due to lack of business. The online NetFlix and Red Box movie kiosks became popular and the movie rental fee was lower.

The Red Box kiosk is very convenient for me because I can do all my shopping and banking inside the Albertson's supermarket at the same time.

The Red Box DVD movie rental is $1.30 per movie and must be return before 9:00 p.m. of the following night. Otherwise, I have to pay another $1.30 for each night of return delay.

I can save a lot money using the Red Box movie rental kiosk. The movie theaters in Las Vegas usually charge $7.50 per person before the 6:00 p.m. show. After 6:00 p.m., the movie admission fee is $8.50 per person.

I do not care if all the Red Box DVD movies are 2 months late after their movie theater showing. As long as I have not seen the movies, they are all new to me.

Imagine, I can save $6.20 from each movie ($7.50 movie theater admission free minus $1.30 Red Box rental fee). By not going to the movie theater, I can still save $3.50 for a small pop corn and $2.50 for small soda or soft drink.

But I can save more money if I can borrow the same movies from our public libraries, free of charge for 7 days, if such movies are available. At the same time, I can borrow up to 10 books and 10 magazines at a time, free of charge for 14 days.

That's how I enjoy my movie entertainment at home.

TIPS

1. Apply for a library card if you have public libraries in your locality that allow you to borrow DVD movies, CD music, books, and magazines, free of charge.

2. Rent your DVD movies from Red Box movie rental kiosks using your debit or credit cards. Red box kiosks are usually found at McDonald's, Albertson's supermarkets, and Walmart supermarkets.

3. Minimize going to movie theaters to save money in movie admission fees, pop corns, soda or soft drinks, candies, hotdogs, pretzels, and other food items.

2. Create one or more niche blogs (up to 100 blogs per account) using Blogger.com. A niche is a segment or specialized part of a market or topic. See examples of niche blogs below:

2.1. Home buying and selling blog – a part of the general topic on “real estate”

2.2. Income tax preparation business blog – a part of the general topic on “work at home business”

2.3. Computer repair blog – a part of the general topic on “repair and maintenance”

2.4. E-book publishing blog – a part of the general topic on “book publishing”

2.5. Container vegetable gardening - a part of the general topic on “gardening”

3. Write blog articles to each of your niche blog that will give your readers some solutions to the problems, tips, procedures, success and negative stories, and anything that will interest your readers.

1.a. Blogger.com offers several free dynamic and mobile blog templates and widgets. If you do not like the Blogger.com templates and widgets, you can install free templates and widgets from third-party websites like Btemplates.com.

1.b. Blogger.com blog hosting service is free for life. Of course, all your blogs will have the extension of “.blogspot.com”. So what. People will read blogs if they get valuable information. They do not care if your blogs are hosted in free-hosting services.

1.c. All your blogs will be automatically submitted by Blogger.com to the Google search engine. However, you have to manually create a site map for all your blogs and submit it to Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines.

1.d. All your blogs will be automatically displayed by Google in desktop computers, laptop computers, and mobile phones, thus increasing your blog exposure to more people.

1.e. You can display Google Adsense ads immediately when you finish your first blog article. No need to wait for approval from Google. Your Blogger.com account can be used to access all Google product and services, free of charge.

2. That your blog should be hosted in a paid hosting service and it should have its own name to look more professional. That is b*shit! There are Blogger.com blogs with “.blogspot.com” extension that are making money from Google Adsense. As long as you are making money from using Blogger.com, you're okay and fine.

3. That it takes at least 6 or 12 months to make money from blogging. The answer is YES and NO. I will say that it will take at least ONE MONTH to start the money from Google Adsense ads to trickle or move to my account.

This is my proof. I started my first MoneyFinanceBlogger.blogspot.com article on October 29, 2012. As of November 3, 2012 (after 6 days), my blog has 4 posted articles (except this article).

From October 29, 2012 to November 3, 2012 (after 6 days), my MoneyFinanceBlogger.blogspot.com received the following (as reported in my Google account):

total page views of 634 and 13 cents from Google

You will say that 13 cents is so small. You're right as of now. The 13 cents were generated for 6 days from 4 blog articles while I was sleeping. This is a good start. This money will increase in the coming months and years, without investing any money.

Search the Internet and go to public libraries to look for some ideas in composing your niche blog articles. Do not plagiarize or copy other people's articles. Put some keywords and keyword phrases in all your articles and discuss your ideas or topics in 600 words or more. The more relevant texts on your niche article, the more people will visit your blogs.

If you have let's say, 5 niche blogs, write at least one good and relevant article for each niche blog every week. In this case, your visitors will know that you are updating your blogs regularly.
